Anabel Maldonado is a London-based fashion journalist specializing in opinion features, critiques, trend reports, industry analysis and fashion psychology.
Anabel’s work has appeared in The Business of Fashion, The Untitled Magazine, Marie Claire, Trendstop, HerbalGram, sofeminine.co.uk, as well as a number of academic journals. A Toronto native who has lived in London since 2008, she started her fashion career at the press department of Christian Louboutin before deciding to focus on journalism and editorial. After internships at Mail on Sunday, Marie Claire, and several years in magazine publishing, she became Editor-in-Chief of former luxury e-commerce site CoutureLab.com. CoutureLab has since turned into the content site and portfolio of luxury fashion e-commerce pioneer Carmen Busquets, whose investments include Net-a-Porter, Moda Operandi, and Farfetch, Armarium and Lyst, which Anabel still manages.
As a luxury brand consultant and senior copywriter, Anabel has provided editorial consulting and content creation for luxury brands and companies that include Spring Studios, Aston Martin, JOSEPH, Wolford, Chinti & Parker, Temperley London, Hugo Boss, Bucherer, the Quintessentially Group, Made in Global, Vault Couture, BestSecret, Biotherm, Decleor, Dr Jackson's and Dassault Falcon, as well as a number of emerging fashion and luxury brands.
Her first solo venture is The Psychology of Fashion - a research, media and commerce platform that examines why we wear what wear. By creating the first fashion psychology framework that explores the relationship between clothes, personality and emotions, Anabel seeks to revolutionize how we shop, get dressed, and perceive the role of clothes in our lives.
